Introduction

The then Chairman of Paikoro Local Government Council Alhaji Mohammed Kabir Abdulmalik, at the instance of the Chief Servant of Niger State Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu, convened a meeting of state holders with a view to gingering them to establish a Microfinance Bank having been convinced of the positive impact it can have on the citizens and the society in general.

To actualize this dream, a Technical Committee was set up and inaugurated on 21st July 2008 and charged with the responsibility of midwiffing a Microfinace Bank under the chairmanship of Alhaji Danlami Dawud Abubakar and assisted by 9 other members listed below:

The Committee immediately commenced work and in liaison with Niger State small, Medium Enterprises and Microfinance Agency, brought together fifteen (15) initial promoters under the chairmanship of AMB. ZUBAIRU DADA to kick start the process.   

CAPITAL CONTRIBUTION FOR PANA MICROFINANCE BANK LIMITED 

At commencement, members of the promoters council foresaw some challenges bordering on finance and immediately established Pana Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited which sourced THIRTY SIX MILLION NAIRA ONLY (₦36,000,000.00) through the good offices of Niger State SME&MF AGENCY to ease the process of establishing the bank. These funds were used for banks’ take off capital/licencing fee of (₦20,000,000.00) and other essential requirements.

The bank also had seventeen member of staff who occupied various position to guarantee full operations. The banking Licence of Pana MFB Ltd was issued by the CBN on 29th – January, 2010 while it Commenced full Operation on 1st – march, 2010 as a unit Microfinance Bank with Twenty Million Naira {₦20,000,000.00.}Capital
